I am an award-winning writer and editor with nearly two decades of experience in health care communications and higher education. In my most recent role, I served as associate director of editorial strategy for special projects at HigherEdJobs. I wrote about the job search process, workplace issues and career development, served as an editor and podcast producer, and conducted outreach to boost HEJ content.
Before landing this role in March 2024, I worked at Edra Publishing U.S., overseeing two news sites with dentistry and veterinary medicine content. As editor-in-chief, I edited and posted up to 40 articles each week on these sites and worked with the marketing team to shape content descriptions and images for distribution through newsletters. During my tenure, the company saw an increase in web users by more than 45% for Veterinary33 and by 43% for Dentistry33 in one year.

Previously, I worked in media relations while also developing content as a science and medical writer in higher education in Colorado and Seattle. In these roles, I identified the best channels to share these stories with the public and other audiences, including potential donors.
As a journalist and writer, I have covered health care, health policy, medicine, legal topics, community news and music.
Over the course of many years and in several cities, I interviewed or reviewed Rufus Wainwright, Coldplay, Taylor Swift, Badly Drawn Boy, Melissa Ferrick, The Killers, The Shins, Death Cab for Cutie, Jenny Lewis, Jason Mraz, Michael Buble, My Morning Jacket and Elvis Perkins, among others.
My work has appeared in The Seattle Times, The Nation, Stateline.org, Puget Sound Business Journal, Washington Law & Politics, Seattle Star, Washington (DC) City Paper, Denver’s Westword and Baltimore City Paper.
